Leila Jamal, Sc.M., Ph.D. is a certified genetic counselor and bioethicist with joint appointments to the National Cancer Institute and NIH Department of Bioethcs. She is Associate Director for Cancer Genomics for the Johns Hopkins/NIH Genetic Counseling Training Program and a past member of the Board of Directors for the National Society of Genetic Counselors. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for the AllofUs Genetic Counseling Resource. Dr. Jamal's research focuses on uses of influence and persuasion in genetic counseling, oncology care for gender diverse patients, the provision of genetic counseling in palliative care, and uses of genetic information to justify policy decisions by insurers and legislators.
