Hridya Rao is a PhD student working with Drs. Lindsay Feranandez-Rhodes, Associate Professor of Biobehavioral Health, Jennifer Wagner, Assistant Professor of Law, Policy, and Engineering, and Anthropology at Pennsylvania State University, and Anne E. Justice, Associate Professor of Population Health Sciences at Geisinger Health System. Hridya obtained her bachelors in Biotechnology Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, India, and her masters in Bioethics from the Wake Forest University (Center for Bioethics, Health, and Society), North Carolina. She obtained a second masters in Biobehavioral Health from Penn State and is currently working towards a doctoral degree in biobehavioral health. Her dissertation plans include studying and understanding the metabolic subtype of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, specifically, building a polygenic risk score and studying it's interactions with environmental variables. She is passionate about studying these outcomes in Hispanic/Latinas, a population that is overburdened by metabolic dysfunction.
