Dr. Feys has a multidisciplinary background in economics, philosophy, and biomedical ethics. Having completed undergraduate (BA) and graduate (MA) degrees in applied economic sciences (Hasselt University), he worked as an IT consultant. Dr. Feys successfully pursued degrees in philosophy (BA, MA) at the KU Leuven and obtained his doctorate (PhD) in philosophy from the University of South Carolina. In his doctoral research, Dr. Feys drew on his broad experience to develop a framework for the analysis and design of just health institutions. His current research interests include issues of translational justice in human genomics research, the use of AI/ML to promote health equity, and ELSI surrounding space exploration. Dr. Feys has presented his work at 30+ national and international conferences.
