Heather Dron, MPH, PhD, is a historian of medicine and public health who studies pregnancy, sterilization, and infant disability. She is interested in how vulnerable populations interface with medical research and decision-making. She completed her PhD in the history of health science at UCSF in 2016 and was a former fellow at the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics. Her subsequent research engages with consent practices, refusals to consent, and other objections to eugenic sterilization in California institutions.
