Genetic Counseling Program Manager

Margaret is a the genetic counseling program manager for the Center for Applied Genomics (CAG) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia(CHOP). She serves as co-project manager for CHOP’s participation in the Electronic Medical Records and Genomics (eMERGE) Network and has co-chaired multiple working groups for the network including the Genome Informed Risk Assessment (GIRA) design subgroup. She coordinates return of results efforts for the CAG and focuses on innovate methods to integrate genomics results with the electronic health record. She currently works as project manager on a variety of research projects focusing on cutting-edge technologies and analytical techniques including polygenic risk scores, pharmacogenetic testing, and whole genome sequencing for rare disease and pediatric cancer. Margaret currently serves on the executive board of the Section of Genetic Counselors at CHOP and Penn and on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Association of Genetic Counselors (PAGC). Her two primary objectives for her genetic counseling career are to improve access to quality genetic testing through innovation and to support the professional growth of genetic counselors.
