Ilaria Galasso, PhD

Ilaria Galasso is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for History and Ethics of Medicine at the Technical University of Munich.
Ilaria Galasso's research focuses on social justice and health equity (and the links between the two), with a particular interest in the social barriers to health and well-being in contexts of socioeconomic deprivation and migration, and in the tensions between individual and social responsibility in health and beyond.
Ilaria Galasso has a background in ethical and political philosophy and philosophy of science. She completed her PhD in the Science and Technology Studies research unit at the European School of Molecular Medicine in partnership with the European Institute of Oncology and the University of Milan, with a dissertation on the opportunities and challenges of the emerging medical approach of precision medicine in terms of justice.
